Afro-Latino Festival 2014

Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre along with the NSW Spanish and Latin American Association for Social Assistance Inc. will present the Afro Latino Festival, Saturday 22 March 2014.

Afro Latino Festival is a platform where common history can be showcased, shared and celebrated. The Afro Latino Festival vision aims to highlight and strengthen the cultural heritage of both Latin American and African communities in Sydney by bringing them together to promote their cultural diversity and celebrate their cultural heritage through a biennial festival.

Afro Latino Festival 2014 is a free community led festival showcasing live music, cultural performances, song, dance, arts and crafts, sports and food from the Latin American and African continents. The festival’s program will comprise of a live-performance program, which includes both community performing groups and professional performers. Additionally, the festival will offer workshops for all ages, including drumming, dance and drum-making, alongside other activities such as face painting and a soccer skills competition. These activities will also be accompanied by a range of food stalls, arts and crafts stalls as well as some information stalls.
