An Oversimplification of her Beauty – Terence Nance

I have a thing for beautiful titles and ‘An Oversimplification of her Beauty‘ is so poignantly wonderful that immediately when I heard about this film I knew I wanted to watch it on the basis of the title alone.

An Oversimplification of her Beauty has had an excellent run at international festivals this year after its world premiere at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. Directed and written by African-American Terence Nance, this experimental film uses live action with elements of animation explores the roller-coaster machine of a romantic relationship. The film looks visually stunning and reviews for the film have been excellent.

Nance also composed the score and starred in my favourite film maker Nikyatu Jusu short film African Booty Scratcher.

Here is the trailer; fingers crossed that it will make its way to Australia soon.
