I have been curiously waiting for the release of STOCKTOWN AFRICA and now it has released – well parts of it has been released.
STOCKTOWN is an a project which began in the 90’s. Since the 90’s STOCKTOWN, has documented all aspects of street culture through documentaries, pirate television and various exhibitions from places like the US, Australia, and Japan. It is now an example of global cross media storytelling, linked to a global network contributing to many projects with the intention of building a community around their online video platform.
STOCKTOWN AFRICA is derived from the original STOCKTOWN. It is a new TV series “seeking the same creative forces in Africa’s four points of the compass. It is the search for the modern urban African soul”.
About a month ago, I did a post on the promos of STOCKTOWN AFRICA 2010 (18/05/2010). I instantly fell in love with the whole idea behind the project. It is such a thrill seeing the creatives souls of Africa in one short promo. Just imagine what it would be like as a TV series!!!!! I think EPIC!!!
Unfortunately, the STOCKTOWN AFRICA episodes have not been released. To keep us engaged until the series release, there is the STOCKTOWN website and the STOCKBLOG which features a variety of African creatives doing their thing.
