the inaugural post for afroklectic

I am Gillean Opoku an Australian-Ghanaian design student. I was born in Australia, but my Ghanaian roots have never grown old.

I have decided to create this blog 'afroklectic' as a creative platform for myself and other African creatives especially in Australia to showcase their creativity whether in design, fashion, art, music, poetry etc.

When it comes to creativity in Africa, it is often associated with safari paintings, zebra stripes and scary leopard prints. I hope 'afroklectic' is able to demonstrate that there is more to Africa then scary fabric prints.
