ZAM

I heard about ZAM magazine last year in September from What’s Up Africa. ZAM is an international multi-media platform celebrating African creativity and new thinking. Committed to giving an edgy and contemporary viewpoint on Africa, ZAM’s content is free of clichés, platitudes or romantic notions of the continent.

Founded in 1997 and based in Amsterdam, the  core of ZAM consists of journalists, writers, visual artists, photographers, academics, visionaries and doers who have developed an independent quarterly magazine along with supporting digital media, curated events and art pieces.

From the get-go, I was in love with the ZAM website. It was rich in content, had a great website and great vibe. However, there was one problem ….it was all in Dutch! So I started using Google Translate once in a while as an attempt to read content on the site. That practice died after one or two attempts.

Now, thanks my trusty source What’s Up Africa, I recently found out that ZAM magazine has released an English version magazine which is available free on the iPad as well as their website. Now I am on a mission to grab myself a copy!
