I fell in love with Dr. Martens when Goths were rocking them with their Darth Vader capes, Mohawks and a disturbing amount of bolts in their ears. In an unlikely yet very artistic collaboration, British-Ghanaian designer Adrien Sauvage and Dr. Martens recently launched four new styles − the Midnight Blue Patine, Praline Patina, British Woven Kente Silk and Patent Praline. Yes, you read right, ‘Kente’! And in true Sauvage fashion, an instructional video titled ‘The Student‘ − a follow up from his successful 2010 short film This is not a Suit. Inspired by Gus Van Sant relaxed sartorial philosophy, The Student wittily educates us on how to ‘dress easy’ with new Dr. Martens.
