Afro-Creative: Anna Lukindo

When I went to help out at Fashion4Africa last year, I fell in love with a garment by Anna Luks

I describe its as avant-garde and structural. And now I am adding more to my description. I think of it as a uber-cool cyber piece. It’s unlike anything I have seen before.

Anna Lukindo is the designer behind Anna Luks. Anna was original trained as an Architectural Draftsman and worked in Tanzania. She always had a passion for textiles and loved creating her own pieces. Luks got in touch with her fashion side by completing a degree in Fashion and Textiles at the Middlesex University in London.

Her signature work is mostly inspired by using yarns, ropes, and cords. She mainly works with organic materials because they give her more freedom to be experimental.

Here are a selection of images which detail Anna’s inspiration and creative process for the dress I am so IN LOVE with. The dress is called the ‘Lil White Corset Dress’.
