Afrosocialite

If you google the name ‘Mazuba Kapambwe’, the search results are endless because her roles are endless!

Mazuba was born in Washington DC to Zambian parents. She has lived in America, Zambia, Germany and Ethopia. She’s had a nomadic up bringing yet she has always stayed true to her roots. Mazuba is a writer, blogger, entertainment journalist and entrepreneur who is very passionate about Africa and the creative scene.

She currently contributes for a number of sites such as  Heritage1960, Africa Style Daily, MIMI magazine, AFUA, Style House Files and previously for Face2Face Africa, Jamati and African Pride. That’s to name a few! Trusting Mazuba, there are plenty more!!! On top of that she’s currently in her final year of University where she even helped start the African Student Association. She is also the Entertainment Guru for Radio Afro Australia, where every week she updates listeners with up-and-coming Haute African events around the globe.

Her CV is very long and and she is making it longer by the day! I am really excited about her latest project, because it’s her own blog with the most suitable name ever ……. ‘Afrosocialiting‘. (Afrosocialiting is a combination of word socialite and Afropolitan. A term by Nigerian US based writer Taiye Wosurnu).

Mazuba is an Afrosocialite. I think, if the word ‘Afrosocialite‘ was in the dictionary Mazuba’s name would embedded in the meaning. It would read, ‘a person who participates in social activities and spends a significant amount of time entertaining and being entertained at Haute African events. eg. Mazuba Kapambwe’.

Afrosocialite is a chronicle of Haute African Events that Mazuba regularly attends to network with creative Africans in NYC and sometimes other states. The events cover a broad range from vents including film screenings, to food tastings, festivals, concerts, bazaars, fashion shows, to art events. She also covers what she wore and other matters relating to creative Africa.

You can check Mazuba out at Afrosocialiting or follow her on twitter @afrosocialite.
