amazones

French photographer Thierry Le Goues has shot for many magazines and campaigns such as Harper’s Bazaar, Nike, Vogue, YSL and Levi’s. However what is really intriguing is that he loves using black models and black mannequins in his photographs.

In his latest series ‘Amazones’, the beautiful skin of the black models are drapes in iron clothing and accessories designed by Paco Rabanne.

I love the heavy black and white contrasts it creates a provocative, yet smooth kind of feel to the works. The use of light, adds a futuristic and unnatural element. It makes me think that that the model is ‘too good’ to be real.

Thierry Le Goues also has a book titled ‘Soul’ which is  “a sensuous and evocative book of nudes featuring the world’s top black fashion models. Experience the allure and quiet power of African beauty, strength, and eroticism personified through French fashion photographer Thierry Le Goues’ lens”.

I am very disappointed at the fact that I can’t seem to find more information on this amazing photographer.  I want to know more about him, his fascination is of black models and the intent behind his series ‘Amazones’ and ‘Soul’.
