FADER 52 (March 2008) celebrates the culture and music of Africa. The two covers feature Esau Mwamwaya, a Malawian singer now living in London who is reshaping the global pop scene, and BLK JKS, a dub metal quartet in South Africa with an afropunk style and who are movement unto themselves. Also in the magazine are fascinating looks at Kwaito, the indestructible beat of Johannesburg, and Hiplife, a Ghanaian style that is struggling to break free from itself and conquer the globe. As usual, the stories are brought to life by unforgettable images captured by some phenomenal contributing photographers.
