While rummaging through the design section of my Uni library, I found this great book titled ‘Excess: Fashion And The Underground In The ’80s’ (2004) by Charles Jencks and Bruce Weber. I found some great afro-80s-style images featuring an array of bold colors and edgy afro-80s patterns.

The Unity cover above reminds me of Pablo Picasso’s ‘Dora Maar’ painting.

I am especially loving this image featuring Lili Bounanga from Cameroon for United Colors of Benetton. The image is the handy-work of the controversial Italian photographer and former creative director of Benetton Oliviero Toscani.
