Be

Be brave, be spontaneous, be free, be you, be what you want to be, be in the moment. Be now.

Avuyile Ndamase, nicknamed Avo by his friends, feels like the ocean is a part of him. He grew up near the coast, and he’s been surfing since age 8, despite a freak accident where his brother was attacked by a shark. Every morning he heads down to his favourite surf spot in East London, waxes his board and paddles in. From a distance, he watches the city waking up. This is where this budding pro-surfer relaxes and finds himself. Surfing is “freedom”, and the only way to see the world is from the inside of a barrel.
