Dutch born graphic designer Monique Kneepkens created a funky looking 2009 Christmas card for the In Africa Foundation based in Australia. The card is an A3 poster folded down to A5 with a sticker featuring the card message ‘Wrapping the year with seasons greetings from the team at In Africa’. The design of the card takes a sustainable approach, by allowing the receiver to either keep the card in it’s original state, use it as a poster or wrapping paper.
In Africa is a non profit organisation established in 2003 by South African born Catherine Stuart. In Africa stands for the ’empowerment of individuals and communities in Africa’s rural regions’. It’s purpose is to ‘create employment and sustainable, independent enterprises that actively involve and benefit the poor and other undeserved population’ across the sub-Saharan Africa by building a brand focusing on African art, craft and decor.
