I kept hearing ‘Ghana is the hope of Africa’ in the World Cup. To me, it sounded like the slogan was imprinted on the Black Stars’ forehead. But I couldn’t figure why I thought that. I don’t really pay attention to the World Cup talk shows between matches because I am usually asleep. I only watch the talk shows when I am waiting around for a game to start. If I had consciously taken time to watch the shows, I would have figured out that ‘The hope of Africa’ is actually the winning bus slogan for Ghana in the ‘Be There with Hyundai‘ Competition.
The competition gave FIFA.com users the opportunity to decide which slogan would best reflect each nations’s history and ambition for the World Cup, then use the slogan to decorate each nation’s bus at the FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010™.
“Creativity, imagination and originality were the order of the day, with the winning slogans sure to provide inspiration to the players throughout the tournament.”
Below are sketches of each African teams’ bus design.
I really hope Ghana lives up to their slogan!!!!!
In about 3 hours, we will see whether that comes to pass.
The battle between Ghana and USA for a quarterfinals spot, starts in about three hours!!!!!
