Africans

I mentioned the smooth soulful tunes of Nneka sometime ago. I found this song titled ‘Africans’ from her 2005 album ‘The Uncomfortable Truth’.

I like how the video is shot on the dusty roads of Lagos, Nigeria. It’s not sugar coasted with video effects or another rendition of a World Vision Ad. It’s the real deal. It’s our Africa. 

‘Africans’ is an anthemic tale of personal frustration with the continent’s failure to change and the repetition of the same old problems. As well as sweet voice Nneka has a serious message to share’.
