In Africa with Monique Kneepkens

Yesterday I wrote about the In Africa 2009 Christmas card designed by Monique Kneepkens (8/06/2010). Here is a follow up on other projects Kneepkens has worked on for the In Africa foundation.

In Africa Identity

Based on the values of In Africa, Monique used traditional African symbols with various meanings such as freedom, initiative, and support for the concept of the In Africa business cards. ‘Collaboration’ is considered to be one of the key principles at In Africa. To emphasise the idea of collaboration, Monique placed two halves from two different symbols on the back of each staff members business card. When all the cards were placed together, they form a symbols chart. This emphasises the idea of working together towards one goal.

I think the cards all together creates a beautiful piece as an artwork or as a pattern.

I can just imagine it as wallpaper, fabric or even as cushion covers.

In Africa Illustrations

This illustration is a visualisation of In Africa’s beliefs strong in collaboration, innovation and growth. The beautifully detailed illustration was transformed into leather bound covers for notebooks.
