I love the artwork from Pray the Devil Back to Hell by German illustrator Olaf Hayjek. The colours used, are bold with dark areas and a few vibrant spots. The use of bold colour is a metaphor for the boldness of the Liberian women, the darkness is the pain they went through for peace, and the brightness is the end result – the peace!
Eloquently captures the power each of us innately has within our souls to make this world a far better, safer, more peaceful place.– DESMOND TUTU (1984 Nobel Peace Prize Winner)
The heroism on view in the documentary Pray the Devil Back to Hell is breathtaking. It’s about a band of women who, unarmed, stood up to tyrants and won. And it’s all true.
