South Africa 2010 by Tsevis Visual Design

South Africa 2010 is an experimental project by Tsevis Visual Design (Greece). The project explores the traditional African patterns, culture and the contemporary football subculture. The project is a series of images featuring popular African football personalities in a computerised mosaic style. Elements from African flags and traditional patterns serve as the colour palette for the images.

I think of this work as computerised tapestry with a colourful blend of ridged shapes, giving the works a lively mood and invisible texture. The shapes also enhance the emotions in the images.

“Best part of the project so far is the virtual journey through places and cultures. Exploring Africa’s history and tradition is a great pleasure but also an endless lesson.” – Tsevis
